Svitlana Sorokina
Lawyer, expert
I am Svitlana Sorokina, a lawyer with an international background and a political advocate. I was born in the Carpathian region of Ukraine and have built a diverse career in law and governance both in Ukraine and Finland. My studies at Lviv University, the Presidential Academy in Kyiv, and the University of Helsinki have provided me with a strong foundation for fair and responsible decision-making.
I worked in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Parliament) in the committees on international relations and human rights. After that, I dedicated myself to helping Ukrainian refugee families in Finland through counseling and volunteer work. For me, politics is, above all, a responsibility towards people – I want every voice to be heard and justice to be upheld.
I believe in economic growth, promoting entrepreneurship, and fostering innovation so that Finland can strengthen its position in global competition. At the same time, I want to protect nature, education, and well-being to build a sustainable future for the next generations.
I am an active, positive, and responsible person who believes in solutions, not just words. Join me in building a better tomorrow – together!

I was born in Ukraine 1982, in the Carpathian region. I hold a Master of Laws degree
and also a Master’s degree in Administrative Governance from the Presidential
Academy in Kyiv.
I studied law at Lviv University from 2000 to 2005. Between 2010 and 2013, I
pursued studies in administrative sciences alongside my official duties. From 2022 to
2024, I studied Global Governance Law at the University of Helsinki.
After university, I worked as a court secretary and later as an expert at the National
Agency for Education.
Following these positions, I worked as a lawyer at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
(Parliament), specifically in the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee
on Legal Policy and Human Rights Protection.
In Finland, I have worked in the guidance and counselling of Ukrainian refugee
families. I also volunteer to support Ukrainian refugees.
Nature is important to me, and during the summer, I cultivate many ornamental and
useful plants. I also enjoy sports—I practiced judo for five years during university. My
other hobbies include tennis, skiing, swimming, mushroom and berry picking,
reading, and occasional traveling due to my responsibilities.
I am an active person, and my friends have described me as positive, caring,
responsible, and reliable. I find it rewarding to help both people and nature.
In politics, my goal is to help Finland achieve new economic growth in a responsible
and proactive manner. I want to promote equality and seek solutions that enhance
entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation for success and development. I want
every voice to be heard and for people's wishes and needs to be integrated into
political justice.
I am a Board of the International KOKOOMUS group.

Nuorten puutarha Espooseen
Nuorten osallistaminen Espoon kaupungin viherryttämiseen on loistava idea! Ilmastonmuutos tarjoaa mahdollisuuksia kasvattaa erilaisia kasveja Suomessa – esimerkiksi avomaalla voi kasvattaa kurkkuja. Tähän tarvitaan vain maata…
